Giant Rooks

Giant Rooks

We’re thrilled to welcome German band Giant Rooks back to Head for the Hills following their huge success at 2017’s festival.

With their second EP New Estate, the band from Hamm have performed over 200 concerts in the last two years and it appears as though audiences can’t get enough of them: despite several major venue changes, their European tour in February and March of this year was completely sold out. It included shows in London, Manchester, Berlin, and Amsterdam.

Although the band was only founded as recently as 2014, it has already been compared to international greats such as Arcade Fire and Alt-J, as well as being recognised as the hottest newcomer from the German indie scene.

The five band members create their own, impressive musical world with artistic, experimental sounds, combined with poppy elements, in which one can so wonderfully lose oneself – all this is carried by Frederik Rabes gruff vocals, that do not pretend to have matured with dignity, although they certainly sound like it. Giant Rooks are a band with fervor and talent at work; they are completely comfortable with themselves, and verify that good songwriting is not age-dependent.

This summer Giant Rooks perform at numerous festivals, again proving that they are ready for the great stages of Europe.
